Someone (and I do not remember who, but if it was you, please comment!) pulled together images from all our cameras on the last day of Viscom 20. For those of you who were there, it’s a nice reminder of what a great conference it was… for those who weren’t there, you get a sense of the place.
Location for VisCom 26!

VisCom 26 will be in near Salt Lake City, Utah. Craig Denton is leading the effort there and Sheree Josephson is heading up the Program. Lots of great ideas came up to help us manage having enough slots for all accepted speakers while at the same time reclaiming some of the social/down time we used to enjoy in past conferences. We’ll post descriptions of these ideas so you can comment. The final date is still up in the air but the two weeks that Craig is looking at are:

Submission acceptances are being sent out this week from conference organizers Richard Schaefer and Hans Rosenwinkel so keep an eye on your email — check you spam folder in case things get misdirected there.

The organizers of the 25th Annual Visual Communication Convention invite faculty and students to submit research papers and visual presentations dealing with issues and research in the field of visual communication. Presenters should be prepared to give A-V presentations dealing with any aspect of visual communication are welcome and may include but are not limited to the following themes: graphic design, visual aesthetics and rhetorics, still and motion photography, documentary and feature films, visual literacy, the ethics of visual communication, multimedia and new communication technologies, cultural issues in visual communication, pedagogical issues in visual communication, and representations of reality in visual communication. While traditional research papers are welcome, the authors of all submissions should plan to adapt their proposals into visual presentations.
