2011 – VisCom25 plans underway!

The location for the 2011 VisCom Conference will be Taos, New Mexico. The tentative dates are June 15-19 — although that is subject to change pending location availability.

Richard Schaefer of UMN has volunteered to manage the site logistics plus AV – and Hans Rosenwinkel of UC Denver is interested in compiling the program. Thanks to both for volunteering for Camp VisCom in 2011. Let them know if you’d like to assist in either area. read more

VisCom 25 in Taos?

There have been a couple of offline email exchanges as a result of conversations between Ken Smith, Pete Seel and Dick Schaefer at AEJMC, the substance of which is the following:

Karla Berry… who had volunteered (in abstentia) to find a location thinks Taos would be great. read more

New Google Group for VisCom

In order to streamline the email/listserve situation for VisCom-ers, we have created a Google Group, “Camp VisCom” (plain VisCom having already been taken.) All the folks who were on the Constant Contact list have been sent invitations to join the Google Group. If you received an invitation to join the Google Group, simply reply to the invitation by clicking on the link in the email. If you wish to invite someone to join the group, I have enabled the Members Invite function so you should be able to do that from the website… or send me that person’s email address and I will send an invitation. This is IMPORTANT because I will be deleting the Constant Contact group (and thereby saving myself $15.95 a month.) read more

This is the NEW VisCom website…

For several years we had a standard HTML website and that was good… but now we have something EVEN BETTER…

This WordPress site allows VisCom-ers to get news via RSS feeds and for the conference planners to have access to creating the content as it comes in. We can have links to VisCom-er sites in our Blogroll. Folks can contribute to a History by creating posts, and other folks can add to those memories by commenting. read more
