Hello all Viscom Campers,

We propose VisCom 2021 at Cannon Beach, Oregon, June 16-20 as a gathering of visual scholars to discuss issues and research in visual communication and to plan the future of the annual visual communication conference started by Bob Tiemens and Herb Zettl. Given the financial and other restrictions imposed because of COVID, we propose a return to Viscom’s roots, with little formal programming, just a bunch of like-minded people getting together to discuss our common interests. If there are six people, cool.  If there’s more, also cool. We can think of VisCom 35 as an unofficial, official conference. A line on the vita without the stress – for everyone!

There will not be a registration fee and meals will not be formally catered. We will have access to a meeting room with video projector and an audio system.

At this point, we just need to know who plans to attend and how you would like to participate. Once we have a better idea, we’ll ask for specifics like paper titles or topics to be discussed.  For now, if you’d like to attend please fill out the following survey by February 26:
