Presentation / Paper call:
The organizers of the 25th Annual Visual Communication Convention invite faculty and students to submit research papers and visual presentations dealing with issues and research in the field of visual communication. Presenters should be prepared to give A-V presentations dealing with any aspect of visual communication are welcome and may include but are not limited to the following themes: graphic design, visual aesthetics and rhetorics, still and motion photography, documentary and feature films, visual literacy, the ethics of visual communication, multimedia and new communication technologies, cultural issues in visual communication, pedagogical issues in visual communication, and representations of reality in visual communication. While traditional research papers are welcome, the authors of all submissions should plan to adapt their proposals into visual presentations.
The conference format typically allocates 20 minutes for each presentation with discussion time per group cluster to follow. If you require more time, please indicate in your proposal the preferred amount, including any necessary technical equipment. Abstract and paper proposals will be blind-judged by program coordinators: Glenda Balas and Richard Schaefer, Univ. of New Mexico, and Hans Rosenwinkel, Univ. of Colorado, Denver.

The $150 registration fee and all room bookings are due May 1, 2011.
The conference registration fee is required for all presenters and any family members who will be eating meals at the conference. That fee covers A-V equipment, meals and receptions, except for the on-your-own dinner on Friday, June 17.
Proposal acceptances and rejections will be sent by April 7, 2011, and registration can be paid by check beginning April 1, 2011 until the closing date of May 1, 2011.
